Meals That Tastes Good

Looking for a really healthy meal that you can eat daily and enjoy that is high in protein and low in carbs? If you aren't looking for something like this then you should be. I have decided that Carbs are the main reason for Americans being so FAT and unhealthy. There are people that eat multiple meals in a row that have little to no protein in them! Every meal you eat should have a good size amount of protein.

I don't count calories, I never have and I never will because calories just don't matter and what a stressful way to live! That would suck to always be adding up little calories from everything you eat. Screw that.

Okay here is the most delicious meal that if you eat once or twice daily, I can promise you weight loss.

Marinate chicken or steak in plastic bags for at least 24 hours using lawrys seasonings. They are cheap and come in like 6 different flavors. I recommend balsamic herb for chicken and signature steakhouse for the steak.

Grill the chicken with some Orange, Yellow and Red peppers. Just put the peppers in tin foil and cook until they are a little burnt.

Then chop up spinach and avocado and mix them in with cottage cheese (meadow gold brand). Mix it all together with the peppers and meat and you have the best tasting high protein, low fat and low carb meal you will ever eat!
You're Welcome.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Huge Bean Bag LoveSac

Looking to buy a new huge bean bag chair for your home? The truth is that every expert knows it's a combination of all 3 of those things but that won't grab anybodies attention because everyone has heard it before.

In order to make people follow something it has to sound new and crazy because that is what people like to believe. So if you had a book that said eat less fat and carbs and exercise regularly to gradually lose weight the healthy way, you would not sell any copies. On the other hand if you have a book that says New diet! Lose 30 pounds in 2 weeks eating all the sweets you want. The second book would make you rich and the people that write those books know it.

The fact is that you need to increase protein intake, not because you need tons of protein in the diet to function but because it's better to get full off of protein than from too much fat or carbs. This way you will eat less fatty and carb-rich food.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

How to Lower Cholesterol

Knowing how to lower cholestrol is very important because of the high risk that high cholesterol puts on your heart. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world and most deaths can be prevented by taking a few simple measures.

The easiest thing you can do to lower your cholesterol is to eat fish twice a week. The reason that everyone is in love with fish oil pills is because fish has been proven to lower cholesterol if eaten as little as 2 times a week. Most people don't eat fish that often so they do the next best thing, which is take pills containing almost the same stuff they would get from fish. If you have to choose between the two option, EAT the fish! This way you will be eating something that is good for you and high in protein, which means you won't be filling yourself up with as much fat.

The next issue with cholesterol is saturated fat. The more saturated fat you eat, the worse your cholesterol will be.

Not all cholesterol is bad. The fact is that these colleges are making up a degree so that they can steal peoples money to give them some bogus degree that will not help them get a job any more than taking the personal trainer certification test would.

To become a personal trainer you simply have to pass a test. There are many different tests and they all cost a lot of money to take. This is annoying because most of them don't even test actual knowledge that you would need to be a good trainer but they got paid a lot of money by you taking their test. And gyms trusts these inaccurate tests and don't question the knowledge of the trainer.

Basically anyone can pass most of the certification tests after one day of studying. Sadly the hardest test to pass (the ACSM) focuses more on physiology than actual workouts with clients.

People with degrees in the health field from accredited universities cannot be trainers with their 4 year bachelors degree until they pay the money to take a random test from one of the hundreds of companies capitalizing on the poor qualification for personal trainers.

The fact that more importance in put on a simple test than on a 4 year Degree shows that the only reason is money. These large gyms most likely have contracts with the companies that provide the tests and they most likely share the earnings from the outrageous charges to take the tests.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

How to Get a Six Pack

Have you ever wondered how to get a six pack? What exercises do you have to do in order to have that ripped stomach like Brad Pitt in fight club?

Well, to be honest the questions about which exercises work the best to get a ripped stomach are where you are going wrong.

Everyone has a six pack naturally, just like everyone is pretty lean. The only problem is that there is a layer of fat on top of all that lean muscle. The stomach is no different, in fact for men it's worse. Men store their fat on their stomachs while women mostly store it in their hips, thighs and butt.

So what do you need to do to get a 6 pack?

Well the first thing you need to do is lose some weight. Most people have a few pounds they can drop. If you really want a six pack but don't want to look like a marathon runner without any muscle mass anywhere you have to control your diet.

Okay, so whether you are a man or a woman if you are lifting weights you need to make sure that you are getting enough protein. You don't need to eat as much as a bodybuilder because they often eat too much, but you have to get some protein immediately after a workout. Using a protein drink will do the trick.

Everyone's body reacts differently to fats and carbs. You need to figure out which one makes you put on weight. I could never cut out carbs from my diet, so I cut fat way down when I want to get lean. By way down, I mean eating less than 10 grams of fat a day. Maybe you can stand to cut carbs and you can eat less carbs to lose weight. But you should always consume more carbs than fat and protein. Your body needs carbs! Never cut them completely out of your diet. Carbs = Energy. I don't have time to go over the biochemistry of it but your body uses carbs for energy easier than any other substance.

Brought to you by mobile fitness

Jump Manual Review

The Jump Manual is a jump program that people can download and have immediately on their computer. This usually only happens during pulling movements when working the back or biceps. Pull-ups work your lats and require you grip to be very strong. Also, shrugs work your traps and require a very good grip. To prevent these lifts from hurting your hands you can use weight lifting gloves. I wouldn't recommend that you get much padding in them because the padding makes it more difficult to grip things. The best thing you can do to help you grip is use weight lifting straps. These wrap around your wrist and then wrap around the bar so that it won't slip out of your grip. If you are serious about lifting big weight you need weight lifting straps.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Cottage Cheese Diet

I thought I would share with everyone a great diet idea that involve eating a lot of cottage cheese to lose weight. Cottage cheese has a lot of protein and very little fat, so it fits in with the whole idea of eating less fat than protein. The great thing about a cottage cheese diet is that it tastes good on everything that Ranch dressing would be good on. So next time you eat pizza put cottage cheese on it instead of ranch dressing. Ranch is almost pure fat and one of the worst things you could put in your body. So to lose some extra pounds cut out ranch from your diet and replace it with cottage cheese.
Here is a great meal that you can try. Cook chicken in the over and season it with lemon pepper. Then when the chicken is ready to eat simply add cottage cheese and it tastes great, provides you with tons of protein and has very little fat.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

How Many Steps In A Mile?

Have you ever wondered how many steps are in a mile? Well, there are about 2,000 steps in a mile if you can believe that. So how many calories would that burn? If 3,500 calories equals a pound you can see that it would take a long time to burn calories by walking a mile. The best way to go about weight loss is by dieting first and exercise second, not the other way around. Too many people go the gym and run on a treadmill only to go home and eat bad foods.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Kinesio Tape

What is that tape on Kerri Walsh's shoulder in the Olympic? That is called kinesio tape and is becoming very popular among many athletes. About 60% of NBA teams are now using kinesio taping because of the many benefits that it provides. Instead of wrapping your muscles for stabilization you can now use kinesio tape that adds support but doesn't obstruct blood flow. Blood flow is very important for an injured area so wrapping it would be a bad thing. Kinesio taping lifts the skin and allows for more blood and lymph flow which will speed up recovery and reduce pain in the area. You can wear the tape on any part of your body from the shoulder to the ankle and everything in between. Want to know where to buy kinesio tape? You can get kinesio tex tape right here.

Brought to you by mobile fitness

Get Rid of Your Man Boobs

Learn the truth about abs by <a href="http://e1dfczc2glf4oq9ij6q7ix0waa.hop.clickbank.net/"rel="nofollow" target="_top">Clicking Here!
Do you want to know how to loose man boobs? The answer is NO! Ankle weights will not help you jump higher. How is having a weight that is below your knees going to strengthen the muscles above the knee that need to be stronger to jump higher? Ankle weights will only strengthen the hip flexor and that is not a major muscle involved in jumping. You will also mess up your gait running around with weights strapped on your ankles. You need to train smarter not harder to jump higher. A weight would need to be above your knees to make the jumping muscles stronger, but I would advice against jumping with any added weight period. Why put more stress on your knees? If you want to jump higher you need to train as closely related to the sport that you training for. If you are training for basketball, the jumping exercises should be with shoes on and many should have you handling a basketball so you can learn how to jump with a ball in your hands. If you are training for beach volleyball, you need to do most of your jump training in sand.
Check out the vertical jump training program <a href="http://caderade.theverti1.hop.clickbank.net/" target="_top"rel="nofollow">Here!
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Good Workout Music

I've realized over time that I have to have good workout music to be able to have a descent workout at the gym or run. I think that having a playlist with good pump up songs is a great idea for anyone that wants a good session at the gym. I hate when I am half way through my workout at the gym and my ipod dies. I can't focus on lifting anymore because I don't have the same pump. Especially if i'm doing plyometrics or any sort of jumping exercises. I always have to have a good song to make me continue working out. Lately I have been listening to John Mayer and The Fray at the gym and I like it! It's not what you would think of as exercise music but it keeps me going, who knows maybe I just need to buy some more music. What do you guys listen to at the gym? Post your best songs in the comments section, I need some new tunes to jump to :)
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Joint Pain

I just found this article that explains a lot about joint pain.

Joint Pain Relief Product Review Joint Pain Relief Review

by Dr. Richie

Are you searching for joint pain relief? If you are unsure, you can speak with your doctor to learn how to best control your disomfort.

About the Author:

Before you pick which joint relief product meets your needs review our product review site to get pricing, refund policy, customer review.Joint Pain Relief Product Review

Brought to you by mobile fitness

Glucosamine For Knee Pain

So I have been playing beach volleyball for about 4 year now and as a result my knee has been tweaked for about 2 years. For the last year it has gotten to the point where it kills to walk up or down stairs but I can run on it fine without it hurting. I've been thinking I need to get it scoped but I can't afford that right now.

I had someone tell me that they take glucosamine for their knee pain. So I have been taking it now for about 4 days and it feels pretty good. I even went on the longest run I've ever done in my whole life on Saturday (4 miles.. pathetic I know) and it didn't hurt the next day. And this run was on a mountain trail so it a lot of up and down running which would usually bother my knee. You really aren't supposed to notice a difference until you've been taking it for 4 weeks but I can already tell it is working a bit. What it does is make more synovial fluid in your knee which allows things to glide with less friction which means less pain.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

How Many Calories Do You Need?

You need enough calories to cove your energy expenditure throughout the day. If you want to lose weight than you need to burn more calories than you consume, it's as simple as that. But how many calories do you burn throughout the day is the question. First you need to determine your BMR (basal metabolic rate) which for men is 1 calorie per kilogram of body weight per hour and 0.9 for men. A kilogram is 2.2 pounds. So a for a 150 lb. male it would be 68 cal/hr and for a 150 lb female it would be 61 cal/hr. You simply then multiply that number by the hours in a day (24). So for the 150 lb. male it would be 1632 cal/day and for the female it would be 1464 calories per day. This is only the first half of the equation, now you need to take into account your activity level. The different levels are in order as follows:
Sedentary: (Men 25-40%, Women 25-35%)- You sit around most of the day.

Light Activity:(Men 50-70%, Women 40-60%)- Your activities are as intense as house cleaning/table tennis.

Moderate Activity:(Men 65-80%, Women 50-70%)- 1 hr. of fast walking 4-5 times a week.

Heavy Activity:(Men 90-120%, Women 80-100%)- Physical labor like a roofer, soccer, basketball.

Exceptional Activity:(Men 130-145%, Women 110-130%)- Many hours a day of intense training like phelps.

So you find your activity level and take the low percentage and the high percentage and multiply each by your calories per day. So for the 150 lb. male that is moderately active it would be 1632 x 65%=1060 and 1632 x 80%= 1306 calories per day. So that 150 pound guy needs between 1060 and 1306 calories for his activities in a day. Now you add the BMR to the activity needs. 1632+1060=2692 and 1632+1306= 2938. So his range is 2692 to 2938 calories a day.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Cool Timex Watches and Gadgets to Help You Stay Fit

I graduated in exercise science and have been a personal trainer for some time now and there are a few things that are well worth the purchase when it comes to monitoring your fitness. If you are anything like me, you don't like taking your pulse during workouts. There are a few things that will help you out with that. A timex ironman heart rate monitor is a really beneficial product. With the heart rate monitor you don't have to constantly check your heart rate because it does it for you and it is extremely accurate. Timex has a few other really cool products like their sports watches that count laps and the timex triathlon watch that has a GPS and can connect with a PC to do track your fitness even more. Timex even has ironman watches for the iron man in you. I would highly recommend getting one of the watches and the heart rate monitor to take all the guess work out of your workout.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Plyometrics: Biomechanics of How to Jump Higher

Formerly known as jump training, plyometrics are exercises developed to increase your vertical leap. The words plyo and metrics actually stand for measurable increase.

Power is a result of both speed and strength in a muscle and plyometrics link those 2 factors together. The fastest way to increase power in a muscle is through proper plyometrics training.

When you brain tells your muscle to fire it does so by sending nerve impulses to the muscle fibers which causes a chemical reaction. When you bend down prior to jumping, your muscles react without any conscious thought on your part.

The greatest jumpers actually don't spend much time on the ground. They realize that the longer they are on the ground the more energy is lost and that same energy could be used to jump higher.

One of the main focuses of plyometrics is to shorten the amount of time you are touching the ground. Plyometrics focus on using the stored energy in your legs from the loading phase of the jump.

Bending down before take off is often referred to as the loading phase. This loading phase is crucial to jumping higher because it gives the muscle more power.

Muscles behave in many ways like a rubber band. The more you stretch a rubber band the more power it will have when you let go.

An example of how our muscles react to stretching is the knee test. When the patella tendon under the knee cap is tapped, your muscle will react with power with no conscious thought on your part.

A muscle contraction is always fastest if stretched prior to contraction. Sadly, training does not increase the speed of the reaction, but it does increase the strength that the contraction will have.

plyometrics
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Diets

Remember the Atkins diet? Well, the Atkins diet was all about how evil carbs are and that you should avoid them and you will lose weight. Guess what, if you cut anything out of your diet you will lose weight. This does not make it a healthy diet. You could cut out all protein and carbs and you would lose weight only eating fat. This is obviously a very unintelligent idea. Our bodies are made up of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates and needs all 3 of those things to function properly. Studies were done on the atkins diet versus the normal healthy low fat diet and in the first 6 months people on the atkins diet lost weight fast so it could be known as a fast diet. But after a year the weight loss was no different than the normal way. But what does this mean? Someone on the low fat diet would see steady weight loss over a year which is motivating month after month. The person on the atkins diet would see good results the first 6 months and then the results would greatly decrease causing them to quit the diet soon after 6 months and go back to their normal eat patterns. That's because the Atkin diet is just that... a diet. You can't eat like that forever, so it is only a matter of time before you go back to your old ways and gain the weight back. The normal "diet" can actually be sustained thoughout your whole life making it an eating lifestyle change where you are able to keep weight off forever.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Mobile Fitness

I keep seeing a commercial and it bothers me a lot. It's a commercial for some state college that is advertising how you can go to there school to become a personal trainer. You don't need to go to a school and pay them thousands of dollars to become a personal trainer! That school is robbing people of their money by misleading people to think that they need to pay a few grand in education to become a personal trainer. If you are interested in being a personal trainer, you should buy a book that teaches you about it, read it, implement it and then go take a test to become certified. There are many different certifications that will all give you title of personal trainer and most gyms don't care which one you get so long as you have one. Some of the best known and most accepted certifications are ACSM and NASM. Every gym accepts those 2 personal training certifications. ACSM deals a lot more on the physiology of the human body than on actual workout routines and the test is probably the hardest to pass of all the personal trainer certifications.
It's amazing how misleading and deceiving an organization can be just so they can make some money. Don't be deceived by schools offering fake degrees that they made up so that they can earn some extra money from students.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Dietitian vs. Nutritionist

If you needed help with your diet would go to a dietitian or a nutritionist?
Most people just assume those are two words for the same profession, but that is definitely not the case. We could even ask if you would go to your physician, dietitian or nutritionist for help with a diet and my answer would be the same for both questions. We all know that physicians are required to go to a lot of school and know a lot in the health field. But only about 25% of medical schools in the U.S. require their medical students to take ONE nutrition course. And of those 25% only half of them even offer more than one course as an elective. These numbers are getting better though, so by the time 80% of people in America are obese the doctors will be able to help a little more. But as for right now I would not recommend going to a physician for diet help. One they aren't very educated in it and two, they would charge way too much for the consultation and advice.
Now let's compare dietitians and nutritionist. A dietitian is a person trained in nutrition, diet planning, and food science. Many times they are referred to as an RD or registered dietitian. A nutritionist is some who studys nutrition. Some nutritionists are RDs but others are self-proclaiming experts whose training is questionable and who are not qualified to give advice.
My nutrition professor in college had a dog that was a "certified nutritionist." That shows how easy it is to get a nutritionist certifications from so called accredited schools online. So always look for degrees and credentials listed after a persons name such as RD, MS, PhD, LD, or MD.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Yoga

If you have never been to a yoga or pilates class I would recommend going to both. Don't just go once and decide you don't like it, make sure you try them both at least twice. I say this because you need to try them both out with different teachers/instructors. My first time to pilates I loved it and then i went back and it was a different teacher and it wasn't very good. So make sure you try out different styles. Yoga can change your life in more ways than just physically. One great thing I learned from yoga is how inflexible I really am. I had no idea that the muscles in my right leg were so much tighter than the ones in my left. And, after analyzing every movement possible, I have come to the conclusion that the tightness of the muscles in my right leg are a huge reason for the problems in my right knee. I might be able to save myself a lot of money from not having knee surgery if I continue to stretch my right leg muscles more. So, you could say that going to yoga class saved me from knee surgery. I might just go get some yoga pants and continue doing yoga.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Organic Schmorganic

This new trend of everything being "Organic" is getting really annoying.
If I learned anything from all the Chemistry classes I had in college it's that ANYTHING containing carbon is organic. And all foods are made mostly of organic (carbon-containing) compounds. Companies have taken advantage of how ignorant people are and they simply put the word organic on any of their existing products and they sell way more at triple the price. People think just because it has the word organic on the package that it is good for you.
Originally foods were called organic because they were grown without pesticides or fertilizers but companies have taken this word to the extreme. Don't always believe the words on a label. A perfect example of this would be wheat thins. Whoever thought of that name was very smart because it fools everyone into thinking they might be good for you because they contain 2 words that we associate with being healthy. But they aren't any better for you than any other cracker on the shelf with lots of fat/saturated fat.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Weight Loss: Cardio versus Diet

Is cardio the best thing to do for weight loss?
No it is not! Cardio is very good for your heart and does burn calories while you are doing it. If you are going to do cardio on a treadmill make sure the treadmill mat is ideal. But just think of how long and hard you run versus the amount of calories that you burn. It really isn't worth it in my book because I don't enjoy running. If you love running, then run all you want. If you are more like me then you will want to slim down using more affective methods. For each 3500 calories you eat in excess to what you need you will gain 1 pound of fat. People that are overweight/obese are usually at that stage because of 2 reasons: Lack of exercise and excess calorie consumption. Think about how easy it would be to gain 1 pound of fat in a week. You would only have to eat 500 extra calories a day. Let's think about that, 500 calories extra would be as little as 2 teaspoons of brown sugar. Now lets think of how much cardio you would have to do to burn those 500 extra calories. Anyone that has ever used a treadmill knows that it takes some effort to burn 500 calories. A 150 lb. person running a 6.7 minute mile for 30 minutes would burn 500 calories, and that's a fast pace! So it should be very obvious by now that it would be much easier to lose weight by simply eating less instead of doing crazy amounts of cardio. I'm not saying to not do cardio! Cardio is very healthy and beneficial for your heart and a great workout for your legs. But, if you are running for the sole purpose of losing weight you are not using knowledge to your advantage. When it comes to your weight, a little discipline in the kitchen is better than a lot of discipline in the gym.

The perfect weight loss program would involve a combination of both cardio and weights. As I said earlier, you burn calories while you are running. But when you step off the treadmill you are done burning your calories. That's why it is smart to lift weights! You don't burn many calories while lifting weights, but the advantage is that you are building muscle. And the more muscle you have the more calories you will burn throughout the day. If you ever want to find the most overweight people in a gym simply look in the cardio section. You will see the same overweight person running on the same treadmill for years! Just doing cardio isn't going to get the results that most people want. On the other hand if you want to find the fittest people you will notice that they will be in the weights section of the gym. That's because they understand what is necessary to improve their bodies. If cardio worked as well as people thought, then that person that goes to the gym does the treadmill and then goes home to eat whatever they want would be skinny. But sadly it doesn't and we have to learn to control what we eat and more importantly stop eating before we feel stuffed. We also have to do cardio in MODERATION, (No use in killing yourself and hating the gym) do a little cardio but not so much that you dread going to the gym. YES!
Well, yes if you are consistently working out. Everyone's muscles need amino acids to rebuild after a workout. While men need more protein than women, they both need to make sure they consume protein immediately after a workout. The best protein to buy is whey isolate protein. This protein is more effective in repairing muscle and you use a higher percentage of this protein versus any other. Women will NOT bulk up from eating protein nor from lifting weights! Protein doesn't make you huge, it makes you lean because it allows the exhausted muscles to have access to the amino acids that are needed for proper repair. If you are not working out you have no need for protein supplements because your muscles aren't really in need of more amino acids than what you currently eat. My advice for women is to take a half scoop of protein powder post workouts so that you will actually see the results from your workout. So should women take protein ? yes it will benefit them. I recommend the following:
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Plyometrics- Exercises that enable a muscle to reach maximum strength in as short a time as possible

Have you ever wondered how your leg reacts so fast when the doctor taps the tendon below your knee with a rubber mallet?
The tendon that is being tapped is called your patellar tendon and the muscles that react are the quadriceps. With most movements in the human body our mind has to process the information and send impulses to cause the chemical reactions that result in muscle contraction. When the patellar tendon is tapped the sensory receptors in the muscles send this information only to our spinal cord which in turn sends back impulses to contract. The reaction is so fast that the muscle contracts without our brain even knowing about it. And this is the secret behind plyometrics and jumping hihger. This reaction is called a stretch reflex. The tendon that was tapped was stretched and the body reacted by contracting. The same holds true when you lower your body rapidly to jump. Muscles in your legs are stretched rapidly and they respond by contracting which will result in jumping. Plyometrics has 2 main objectives. The first is to strengthen the contraction that results from the stretch and the second is to train all the fibers to contract at the exact same time. Because jumping is such a fast motion it makes sense to train the muscles involved in a very fast way. Weight training with the legs is necessary to have the strength required to go through the movement, but weight training alone really wont help you jump higher. That's why you don't see bodybuilders dunking basketballs. They have tons of leg strength but their legs have developed a lot of slow twitch muscles that don't react as well to fast movement.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Where is the fittest city in America?

Men's fitness magazine listed Salt Lake City as the fittest city in America. They are not keeping the force of the weight and gravity on the bicep throughout the whole range of motion. Most people when curling a weight let their elbows move away from their body at the top of the motion.

Every weight training guru/magazine will tell you that your elbow should be at your side throughout the whole range of motion. While this is better than having your elbow come forward it still doesn't work the bicep the best way possible.

So, in order to keep your bicep under constant stress you want to lean forward slightly when doing curls. Always keep your elbow directly below your shoulder throughout the whole movement.

You will notice that you will have to use a lighter weight when training biceps like this because your biceps are getting a better workout and will fatigue quicker. Notice that in the ending position gravity is still working against you which never allows the bicep to rest. In a normal curl the bicep gets to rest at the ending position because your bones are taking all the force allowing the muscles to relax.

Stay tuned for shoulder workout
Brought to you by mobile fitness

1 Set per muscle group

We are going to use a new workout style for this week.
The usual workout consist of about 3 or 4 sets and you gradually lift heavier weight each time. For the next 2 weeks switch it up and do 3 warm-ups followed by one heavy set. The warm-ups are going to be with about 50% of the weight you will use for the actual set. First warm-up set do 10 reps(with 45% of max weight), then 8 reps (with 50% of max weight), then 6 reps (with 55% of max weight). Resting 1 minute in between each set. You have good cholesterol (HDL) and bad cholesterol (LDL), so you want your HDL to be as high as possible and your LDL to low. Genetics play a big role in your cholesterol as does diet. The cholesterol you eat in foods doesn't effect your cholesterol as much as the amount of fat that you eat. So to raise your HDL you need to stay away from saturated fat. The more liquidy a fat is, the better it is for you. Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated fats are good for you and you should eat them. They can be found in Omega 3 and 6, like fish oil. Also avocados and nuts have a lot of good fat. And flax seed is always good, you buy it in bulk and then grind it up and put it in your oatmeal or whatever. Aerobic exercise is also very good for improving cholesterol. To keep your LDL in check, stay away from eating too much actual cholesterol, which is found in egg yolks, red meat products, shellfish, etc. Also stay away from trans fats and eat plenty of fiber.

Kellie- The white stuff inside of oreos is made of LARD and sugar.... no lie!
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Nutrition

Okay so here are some weight loss tips to help you eat a little bit healthier... throw away all ranch and mayo that you own and buy cottage cheese! Cottage cheese tastes good on anything that you put ranch on and is much better for you than ranch. It goes well with pizza, lasagna, chimichangas, and the best is cottage cheese on a sweet potato! Try it

Also, instead of counting calories all day, compare the Fat grams to grams of Protein in each food and if there are more grams of fat than protein you should think twice about eating it. Make a deal that you will only eat a certain number of things all day that have more Fat than Protein.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Calves

Today you are simply going to do 500 calf raises. For the first 100 stand with feet shoulder width apart and toes pointing straight ahead. Go all the way up on the ball of your feet as high as possible, hold for one second and then all the way back down. It's best to do them on the edge of a step or somewhere where you will be able to have your heel go lower than the ball of your foot. The next hundred do them with toes point out at 45 degrees. The next 100 do them with toes pointing in towards each other. Make sure you do at least 50 reps in each set. You have all day to do them so space them out however you would like. Then you are going to squat down while sticking you butt out as far as you can... your arms will end up going straight out in front of you when you are all the way down in squat position. Then stand all the way back up.
You will be timing these because you are going to do 40 in 40 seconds.
Right when you get done with the 40 you will move on to the following exercise...

Crunches
Lay down and with stomach sucked in towards you back you are going to do slow controled crunches. Crunch up and hold for 2 seconds before going back down. Never let you stomach relax and dont let your chin touch your chest... your chin should be going up towards the ceiling. Do 50 of these and then go right back into the squats.

Do 3 sets of this and that is the workout
But on the second set of squats you will have your feet a little wider than shoulder width apart with toes turned slightly out (this will work the inside of the leg more)
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Workout #3

Obliques
Okay today is an easy workout and all you need is some kind of stick... a broom will work fine.

Following are 3 exercises for obliques with a broom (or any other stick long enough)

1. Sit on the floor and lean back until your torso is at a 45% angle with the floor.
2. Hold the broom across the back of your shoulders. (The same place the bar would be if you were going to squat with it.) Your hands should be at each end of the broom handle so that they are outstretched.
3. Twist from side to side touching the end of the broom handle on each side of you. The handle is going to touch behind you. Make sure you are twisting your torso not just dropping your shoulders from side to side.

Next you will do the same thing but instead of leaning back to a 45% angle you can sit on a chair straight up and twist with the bar still resting across you shoulders. You want to make sure you twist only your torso and not your pelvis. Keep you head straight and focus on using your obliques to turn.

And the 3rd exercise is another variation of the same. With the broom resting across your back/shoulders you are going to stand with feet shoulder width apart and bend at your waist as far as you can, which will be 90 degress for some people. Then you will twist all the way to one side and hold for 2 seconds then twist to the other. Remember to keep your pelvis from moving.

I know reading these it seems like it wouldn't be a good workout but trust me it is.. you will feel it.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Push-up workout

This is the 7 Minute push-up workout..... even though it will take you longer than 7 minutes to complete at first, but that is the goal.

This workout is very simple and you should see great improvement in as little as a week of doing it.

The idea is that you do 30 push-ups each minute for 7 minutes, totalling 210 push-ups in all.

You have the whole minute to do the 30 push-ups so if you finish the first 30 in 25 seconds you get a whole 35 seconds of rest before starting the next set of 30. Ideally you want to be able to do 30 each minute but once you cant get 30 in a minute you will be trying to finish the remaining push-ups in the fastest time possible. It may take you 12 minutes to do the first time but don't worry you will improve the 2nd time and the 3rd and so on until you can get them in 7 minutes.
Post your times on here so everyone can see the improvements people are making.

You will want to give yourself at least 2 days of recovery, but probably more after the first time of doing it... you will feel it for sure.
Girls you just do all of the push-ups from your knees... you need to do push-ups too.
Brought to you by mobile fitness

Personal Trainers in Utah

Anyone looking for a personal trainer in utah?
